Takeover target McPherson’s plans to take more of its beauty and wellness brands overseas to reinvigorate sales and profit growth and fend off an “opportunistic” $172 million offer from Raphael Geminder’s Kin Group.

McPherson’s – which owns beauty brands Dr LeWinn’s, A’kin, Lady Jayne, Manicare, and Swisspers and kitchen products brand Multix – is undertaking an operational review to identify and prioritise growth opportunities and reverse a five-year decline in sales and earnings that has made it a target for predators such as Kin Group.
