Long waits for new car buyers will ease later this year as car makers ramp up production to work through their order books, according to industry players.
Toyota Australia vice-president for sales and marketing Sean Hanley said longer than usual delivery times would remain until March, despite the company’s Japanese factory returning to 2020 levels of monthly production in November. After that, waiting times would drop, although not for the company’s popular RAV4 hybrid model, which still has an 11-month wait until delivery.
