Harris Scarfe closes stores ahead of sale

South Australian retail icon Harris Scarfe has closed stores as it nears a possible sale within the in the next two weeks after falling into receivership in early December.
Receiver Deloitte said Friday morning that the 21 loss-making stores previously earmarked for closure have been shut, and about 70 per cent of the 400-odd staff impacted have either been re-deployed, gained new jobs elsewhere or are actively applying for roles.
