Coles sales edge up, pallets squeeze a concern

Coles Group boss Steven Cain says some of the issues the supermarket giant faced during COVID-19 lockdowns are easing as vaccination rates climb, but a shortage of wood in Australia is causing a “pallet-gate” heading into the busy Christmas trading season.

COVID-19 caused significant disruptions in the September quarter across its network of supermarkets and convenience stores and delayed its capital expenditure program.
