ACCC call on Sigma, Chemist Warehouse $8.8b tie-up due in four weeks
The competition regulator is still expected to make its final call on the blockbuster merger of drug wholesaler Sigma Healthcare and pharmacy chain Chemist Warehouse in four weeks.
In June, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission raised five “orange” flags in a preliminary assessment of the deal announced last December that would create an $8.8 billion retail and wholesale giant. The ACCC then delayed the final decision in August and flagged a fresh deadline of October 24.
