NSW Parliament slams consultancy’s internal conflicts of interests

A NSW parliamentary committee called for an overhaul of the use of consultants in government to prevent a repeat of KPMG’s conflicts involving a new NSW multibillion-dollar rail asset agency.

The recommendation of the parliamentary committee investigating the $20 billion Transport Asset Holding Entity (TAHE) about the way consultants are hired and used echo concerns by the NSW Auditor-General, Margaret Crawford, who said in February there was an “undue reliance on consultants” by the state government.
