KPMG ‘conflict’ shows agency’s lack of skill in hiring advisers

Conflicting advice from KPMG to two NSW agencies about a multibillion-dollar rail asset agency shows state and federal governments need to improve their hiring and management of consultants.

That is the view of public policy experts responding to separate reports – by a Greens-led upper house parliamentary inquiry and NSW Auditor-General Margaret Crawford – examining the creation of the $20 billion Transport Asset Holding Entity in NSW.
