Unlike, say, the charity dinners or other society events that dot the harbour city’s social calendar, this is not a night for heiresses or wealthy scions. The people who turn up at Joe Hockey’s historic Hunters Hill mansion have not inherited wealth. Instead, they wield power. They have consequential jobs, and many are clients of Hockey’s advisory firm Bondi Partners.
