Ex-chief justice passes on top tips for commercial lawyers

There are two lessons about commercial law that ex-Federal Court chief justice James Allsop got as a young lawyer that he says hold true almost 50 years later.
In his exit interview with The Australian Financial Review, Mr Allsop said he always told associates who wanted to go straight to the Bar that they would benefit from working on business transactions at a law firm first.
