Accounting body’s plan a ticking time bomb for the profession

The plan by professional body Chartered Accountants ANZ to carry out the accounting education of school leavers who don’t go to university is a ticking time bomb for the career prospects of those taking part in the program and the technical and ethical standards of the accounting profession.

CA ANZ says it is replicating recent initiatives in the UK focused on school leavers with a proposal it says is designed to alleviate ongoing labour shortages in the profession.
