Stephen Gageler might want to put a call into the US Supreme Court before he takes over from Susan Kiefel as High Court chief justice in November.
Justice Gageler caused a stir at a judges’ conference in Hobart in October 2022 with a paper on judicial legitimacy, which concluded the US top court had none after its selection process was corrupted by party politics.
