$10k and rife with cheating: Judge blasts mandatory lawyers’ course

NSW Chief Justice Andrew Bell has escalated his campaign against the cashed-up groups that have a stranglehold over the mandatory training required for law students to enter the legal profession.

In a report released on Monday, Bell expressed “serious concerns” about the quality of the mandatory practical legal training (PLT) course, which costs about $10,000 and – students say – is rife with normalised cheating and out-of-date assessments.
