A small piece of Australia will be visible inside Tokyo’s Ryogoku Kokugikan stadium next week, when Japan’s biggest annual sumo wrestling tournament kicks off.

A ceremonial cleansing of the sumo ring takes place before each bout, with the giants of the ancient sport tossing handfuls of bright, white salt around the wrestling space.
