Andrew Cole spent much of his youth fishing beneath the Old Traffic Bridge that connects his home town of Mandurah to Halls Head, and if his time running OZ Minerals is any guide, he was probably trying to catch the small fish rather than the big ones.

Cole’s brand of polite contrarianism has delivered stellar results for OZ shareholders over the past eight years under a strategy that can be broadly summarised as good things coming in small packages.
