Key Points
- The Australian Space Agency head Enrico Palermo says space infrastructure and satellites are showing how electrification can be pursued on Earth because “everything in space is electrified”.
- Mr Palermo says tougher economic times won’t slow down investment in space companies because of the higher potential payback as technology advances faster.
- Satellite technology developed by companies such as Fleet Space is important in speeding up the discovery of more lithium deposits, which in turn accelerates decarbonisation.
The head of the Australian Space Agency says the infrastructure already in space is a role model for an electrified future on Earth.
He also underlined the importance of space and satellite technology in the push by miners to find more lithium deposits to drive the electrification shift.
