Rio gives Jacques a 27pc pay rise

Surging profits, improved safety and ''best in class'' use of social media platform Yammer earned Rio Tinto chief executive Jean-Sebastien Jacques a 27 per cent pay rise in 2019.
Rio said Mr Jacques' total remuneration was £5.79 million ($11.4 million) in 2019, meaning he earned slightly less than former BHP chief Andrew Mackenzie did in fiscal 2019.
