The resources industry urgently needs to stem eroding community support or risk becoming a "politically acceptable target", Evolution Mining executive chairman Jake Klein says.
Just days after the West Australian government revived an attempt to increase the state royalty rate on gold, Mr Klein said if the industry were to remain globally competitive, it needed to act quickly to repair its image.
