Billionaire Gina Rinehart could spoil a $1.6 billion Chilean buyout deal for West Australian lithium hopeful Azure Minerals, replicating the tactics that elevated her to become Liontown Resources’ biggest shareholder.

This time, Mrs Rinehart is accumulating shares in Azure, according to The Australian Financial Review’s Street Talk column, dashing the Chilean giant’s hopes of taking full ownership of Azure, which owns the Andover project in the West Pilbara.
