Rio Tinto has severed ties with the Queensland Resources Council (QRC) less than two months after warning it was not aligned with the lobby group’s advocacy on climate policy.
Rio’s decision comes 18 months after BHP suspended its QRC membership over an advertising campaign commissioned by the lobby group that urged voters to put the Greens Party last at the 2020 state election. BHP confirmed on Wednesday that its membership was still suspended.
