BHP averts Pilbara industrial action as train drivers agree to deal

BHP’s iron ore division has averted industrial action after train drivers voted for a new workplace deal in return for $40,000 in bonus payments.

More than 97 per cent of Mining and Energy Union members voted to approve the deal on Friday, ending a decade of tensions with BHP since the last workplace agreement for the drivers of iron ore trains expired in 2014.
