‘Arguable’ case over axing Jabiluka mine permit, judge says

Energy Resources of Australia, which holds the lease for the Jabiluka uranium mine, has secured an 11th hour legal win just days before the mining permit was set to expire under the prime minister’s request.

In a last-minute hearing, federal court judge Anna Katzmann said a decision by government officials to not renew the permit should be scrutinised by the Federal Court, explaining that ERA may not have been afforded due process.
