Just because you own the world’s biggest resource of a critical mineral, doesn’t guarantee you can get it out of the ground profitably.
The Guinness Book of World Records is full of pointless objects and futile achievements that lay claim to being the “world’s biggest” something or other, which investors should keep in mind as they listen to mining companies trumpet their acquisitions.
Scale has been a recurring theme through the recent flurry of deals at the big end of the sector.
