Billionaire Kerry Stokes and his son Ryan have been on a tear over the past few years, but you wouldn’t know it from the headlines.

The father and son have a 51 per cent stake in Seven Group Holdings, a $17.2 billion conglomerate that owns construction materials company Boral, machinery supplier WesTrac, and equipment hire company Coates. Seven Group also has a 30 per cent stake in $2.6 billion oil and gas company Beach Energy.
