Nine, Foxtel, NRL agree principles on deal

Rugby league is close to sealing deals with broadcast partners Nine and Foxtel for the 2020 season and beyond, and details could be announced late this week or at the weekend.

Sources told The Australian Financial Review that the agreements would include reduced rights fees for the shortened 2020 season and reductions for the final two seasons of the existing agreement. Sources said the agreements could potentially include extensions beyond 2022 as well, but the current year and deal were the priority.
