Lachlan has the nod, but Succession drama continues

Intrigue surrounds the Murdoch media empire after the announcement that Rupert is handing over the reins to his son, Lachlan.

This week has been a case study of the volatile world of politics 2023. But the bombshell announcement of Rupert Murdoch’s “retirement” from his media roles spreadeagled the news cycle.

Murdoch’s “departure”, if that’s what it proves to be, is a classic illustration – as if another one were needed – of how he still dominates the agenda in the US, Europe and Australia more than 70 years after he first became a media proprietor.
