Village Roadshow shareholders could be forgiven for thinking they have been riding Warner Bros Movie World's Arkham Asylum rollercoaster on Queensland's Gold Coast.

Twisting, looping, and at times feeling upside down with shares starting 2010 under $2, hitting $8.29 in May 2014 and falling to $1.77 in July 2018. The company is now in four weeks of exclusive talks with Ben Gray's BGH Capital, which has lobbed a maximum $2.40 per share offer for one of the nation's best-known brands.
