Outgoing ABC Insiders host Barrie Cassidy has all but confirmed long-time Sky News political editor David Speers will soon replace him as the frontman of the political TV panel show in a blow to the News Corp-owned pay-TV news channel.
However, a deal is not yet across the line and it appears there is back and fourth between the public broadcaster and Sky News which could throw up a speed bump for bringing Mr Speers across.
