BRS emails to stay secret after Stokes agrees to cover Nine’s costs

Kerry Stokes has capitulated and agreed to cover the bill for Ben Roberts-Smith’s failed defamation case, thus avoiding the release of thousands of emails between the billionaire, his corporate fixer Bruce McWilliam, and the disgraced former soldier’s legal team.

Nine Entertainment has been pursuing Mr Stokes’ private company, Australian Capital Equity, and Seven for costs related to Mr Roberts-Smith’s failed defamation action. In June, Justice Anthony Besanko dismissed Mr Roberts-Smith’s case and in the process deemed him a war criminal.
