BlueScope profit at 20-year high, eye on grid stability

The chief executive of Australia’s biggest steelmaker, BlueScope, says long-term demand for steel from the build out of e-commerce logistics warehousing, green energy infrastructure and regional housing should keep underpinning strong profits over the next few years.

BlueScope on Monday posted its highest first-half profit since being split off from BHP two decades ago, lifted by booming demand for steel products in North America and Australia, and robust margins.
