The a2 Milk Company is making a move down the supply chain, seeking to partner with New Zealand dairy nutrition business Mataura Valley Milk, taking a 75.1 per cent majority stake for $NZ270 million ($245 million).

A2 confirmed it is engaged in exclusive due diligence talks with Mataura Valley to explore options for the baby formula and milk brand to participate in manufacturing at Mataura's facility in Southland, New Zealand.
