NSW’s proposed toll road reforms would hit some drivers with higher toll fares, create traffic congestion, and would not necessarily be fairer, Transurban has claimed as it protests some measures to overhaul the state’s privately operated motorways.
Transurban said it was open to alternative toll fare pricing systems, including using distance-based rates, infrastructure charges for tunnels, as well as peak and off-peak prices, in its response to an interim report on NSW’s toll road review.
