Transurban hit with first strike on remuneration report

Transurban chairman Lindsay Maxsted says proxy firms are behind a first strike against the tollroad group’s remuneration report as he defended the big short-term bonuses paid to executives during the pandemic as “fair”.

About 555.7 million proxies were voted against Transurban’s remuneration report at its annual general meeting on Thursday – 25.7 per cent of all votes cast – compared to 1.59 billion votes in favour.
