There is a “concerning” lack of transparency in the lucrative toll road contracts handed to Transurban by the NSW government, according to a parliamentary inquiry, which has called for a moratorium on privatisations.
The NSW inquiry was established after the opening of the Rozelle Interchange in Sydney’s inner western suburbs created traffic bottlenecks on the non-tolled roads – in favour of motorists using Transurban’s WestConnex motorway – leading to outrage from residents.
