Launceston Airport says it wants to restore flights to the Sunshine Coast that it was forced to stop operating when budget airline Bonza failed, as the airport became one of only a handful to surpass pre-COVID traffic levels last year.

Launceston Airport chief executive Shane O’Hare said talks were under way with one airline to restart flights from Tasmania to the popular Queensland holiday destination.
