‘Imperative’: Ventia squeezes subbies on rising costs

Infrastructure giant Ventia Services has told managers it is “imperative” to minimise costs, and executives should reject claims from suppliers and sub-contractors trying to recoup rising prices.

The company’s chief financial officer, Stuart Hooper, told leaders in a memo seen by The Australian Financial Review that until further notice, “all price escalation measures with suppliers and subcontractors, irrespective of how they arise, should be rejected”.
