A long-awaited review into Infrastructure Australia will be released by the end of the year according to Infrastructure Minister Catherine King, who also indicated she will take a “hard-nosed look” at the $14 billion Inland Rail project.
Giving the keynote address at The Australian Financial Review Infrastructure Summit, Ms King warned a rush of big-ticket projects could overheat an already over-stretched construction market and raised alarm over the risk that rising labour and material costs pose for projects across the country.
