Boral chief executive Zlatko Todorcevski has been forced to stand down about 630 of the company’s workers in the greater Sydney region and put on idle a number of concrete and asphalt plants because of the temporary construction ban in the lockdown.
Mr Todorcevski, who is working from home in the NSW Southern Highlands region, has shut the plants temporarily except for a skeleton staff as major infrastructure and construction projects are stalled under the tighter orders put in place from July 19 and which are scheduled to operate for two weeks.
