Waste management group Bingo Industries, which was bought out in a $2.3 billion takeover by a Macquarie entity last year, has pleaded guilty to criminal cartel offences related to price fixing for demolition waste services in Sydney three years ago.
The ACCC began its investigation in December 2019 and the probe first became public in January 2020 when Bingo, which at the time was listed on the stock exchange, revealed it was one of the companies under scrutiny following complaints about hefty price rises in the industry in Sydney.
