While Australia’s first case of COVID-19 came from Wuhan in China, new genomic research suggests that very early cases may have come from the US, too.

Genetic analysis of virus samples gathered from 12 countries suggests that in the early days of the outbreak, two versions of the COVID-19 virus were circulating.
