The CIA says COVID-19 came from a lab – scientists are not so sure
Five years on from the start of the pandemic, Donald Trump’s new CIA director has weighed into the contentious debate saying a lab leak was “most likely”.
The United States’ Central Intelligence Agency has revived the contentious debate around the origins of the global pandemic.
Five years after the first COVID-19 deaths were reported in Wuhan, China, a new assessment by the CIA concludes the virus was “more likely” to have leaked from a Chinese laboratory than spread naturally from animals to humans in a nearby wet market.
