Pacific Smiles rejects private equity money

Dental clinic operator Pacific Smiles has rejected a $223 million buyout proposal from Genesis Capital but left the door open for the private equity group to return if it can muster a higher offer.

The board of Pacific Smiles, which operates 120 dental clinics in NSW, Victoria, Queensland and the ACT, on Thursday acknowledged that its share price performance had been “disappointing”, but earnings momentum was building.
