Medical Developments International is buying back control of the distribution for its 'green whistle' product in Europe as its current partner Mundipharma International's parent group deals with numerous legal cases relating to the opioid epidemic in the United States.
Mundipharma is associated with US giant Purdue Group, owned by the billionaire Sackler family, which is behind the popular painkiller drug OxyContin. They are accused of fuelling the opioids crisis in the US which has killed 450,000 people over the past 20 years.
