Labor takes $27m stake in breakthrough eye biotech

Labor’s signature manufacturing fund has taken a $27 million stake in a Melbourne biotech that has developed a tiny ocular implant for glaucoma patients that could replace the need for constant eye drops.

PolyActiva hopes to become the next Cochlear, the hearing implant giant that sells its devices globally, after landing the milestone taxpayer-funded investment.
