Hazzard blames ‘tourism tests’ for fuelling testing crunch

NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard says “tourism tests” required for travel to other states are placing an added burden on the testing regime that was “getting in the way of looking after actual patients”.

The spectre of omicron has pushed national COVID-19 testing volumes towards record levels, stretching clinics to breaking point and creating “diabolical” conditions for staff taking swabs on the ground.
