From medical to social: egg freezing trends

When University of Sydney Professor Catherine Waldby interviewed London women who froze their eggs for non-medical purposes, most agreed 45 was the oldest age at which they would attempt to use them.

Egg freezing for non-medical purposes is a trend in its infancy but researchers in Australia are probing its social and medical implications.

In 2009, David Molloy penned an article about the Queensland Fertility Group’s success with not only freezing eggs, but thawing them too. It was published in The Medical Journal of Australia.
