WA launches Crown Resorts royal commission
Crown Resorts will face simultaneous royal commissions in Perth and Melbourne after the West Australian government, a week before an election it is expected to easily win, appointed two retired judges and an auditor-general to consider if the company should be allowed to operate the Crown Perth casino.
The inquiry, led by Neville Owen, will also examine the state Gaming and Wagering Commission, which has been criticised as too close to Crown.
