Star promoted executives ‘beyond their capabilities’: O’Neill

Outgoing Star Entertainment executive chairman John O’Neill says promoting people beyond their capability contributed to widespread wrongdoing at the company and warned that the clean-out of those responsible is not over.

Giving evidence to the NSW inquiry that has cost him and most of his colleagues their jobs, Mr O’Neill singled out general manager of financial crime Kevin Houlihan and group compliance manager Graeme Stevens as executives who were “appointed beyond their competencies”.
