Star ‘knowingly misled’ regulator over illegal Suncity cage: Inquiry

The Star casino allowed Suncity to illegally run a payment cage in the junket’s private VIP gambling room at its Sydney site and “knowingly misled” the regulator about its existence, an inquiry has heard.

The company’s group compliance manager, Graeme Stevens, conceded it was “entirely improper and inappropriate” to allow cash transactions to take place in Suncity’s exclusive VIP room known as Salon 95.
