The opening of Star Entertainment’s new casino at Queen’s Wharf in Brisbane is delayed once again, with the gaming giant blaming its fourth setback in 18 months on pressures associated with construction.

Star said in February its $3.6 billion resort and casino would open before Christmas, but it is now expected to open in April 2024. Star managing director Robbie Cooke told the ASX on Monday the Queen’s Wharf project opening was delayed because it was not immune to the pressures facing the infrastructure sector.
