New Star CEO accepts casino ‘lost its way’, starts job early
The Star Entertainment Group’s new CEO has vowed to overhaul the group, picking up the reins almost three months earlier than expected as he fights to convince gambling regulators that its casino licences should not be ripped up.
Robbie Cooke, the current Tyro boss, will start work at the beleaguered casino group on October 17 – rather than December 31 – after the Queensland government joined NSW to demand the company prove it could be trusted to run its Brisbane and Gold Coast casinos last week.
